Factors to consider when growing indoor bamboo plants

· Space

If you live in a house or an apartment with low ceiling, you should choose short species. Likewise, if you live in a house will tall ceiling, you can choose tall species. Before you plant your bamboo, ask yourself; how much room do I have to maintain a healthy plant?

· Humidity levels and light

The plant pot must be placed high above the ground preferably in a drip tray filled with gravel. Water level should be placed below the gravel level. This helps in proper drainage otherwise the roots might rot when water is saturated around the plant. Spraying the leaves with water periodically can be beneficial. On the other hand, you should give your bamboo plant as much light as possible.

Care and maintenance of indoor bamboo plants

You should spray the foliage with water a few times a week. Make sure you don’t over-water or under-water the plant. When the leaves start to curl, it’s an indication that the plant is not getting adequate water.

Secondly, you should place the plant in an area with adequate light and shade.

Thirdly; spray the plants with pesticides, since the plant might be infected by microbes or fungus. If you are growing the tall variety, trimming should be done regularly.
